We stumbled across this little beauty when we were doing the self guided walking tour of Riga that takes in the main sights of Riga. Our Lady of Sorrows Church is a Roman Catholic church built after reformation in 1785. The walls of the church are plastered and painted in light blue-green and white, maintaining the colour range typical of classicism and makes it stand out especially in the late summer sunshine.

Here is what the Evendo website says about discovering Our lady of sorrows Church; "Nestled in the Central District of Riga, Our Lady of Sorrows Church is not just a place of worship; it is a historical landmark that attracts tourists from all over the globe. This Catholic church showcases exquisite architectural details that reflect the rich cultural heritage of the region. As you approach the church, you are greeted by its impressive facade, which is adorned with intricate carvings and beautiful stained glass windows. Once inside, visitors are enveloped in a tranquil atmosphere that invites reflection and peace.
The interior of Our Lady of Sorrows Church is equally captivating, featuring ornate altars, delicate frescoes, and serene statues that tell stories of faith and devotion. The church serves as a perfect backdrop for those seeking a moment of quiet contemplation amidst the bustling city.
