Autumn is one of my favorite seasons. The colors are amazing and can be so different from one day to the next. I have been out and about on various photo walks throughout the season and since the season is coming to an end for another year, here is a few of my favorite photos.

The first set is from Samlesbury Hall , a fabulous half-timbered black and white medieval house built in 1325. This one of the stunning stately homes of Lancashire, a haven for history lovers, where the past meets the present. All in all a fantastic family day out. I have done a more detailed blog of this place which you can read by clicking here. We even had chance to have a play on the playground and have fun with the fallen leaves.

Our next stop is the lovely picturesque Astley Park. Astley Hall, Coach House and Park is a beautiful tourist spot located next to Chorley town center offering families and friends a great day out. Within the grounds you will find acres of stunning parkland, the breath-taking Grade I historic house, the modernised Coach House which includes a Cafe, the scenic Walled Garden, an exciting Pets Corner and an array of sports pitches and play areas. This is one of our go to walks which is really easy to go and is perfect for all abilities. Well worth a visit. All these photo's were taken on my phone which also goes to show that you don't always need expensive equipment to take some great shots.

Entwistle Reservoir is where we headed in the middle of November. Another flat and easy walk that is suitable for all abilities and in all weathers. Located just 6 miles from Blackburn just off the A666 towards Bolton. It offers gorgeous views and there is even a nice little pub just off the walk. I have also done a more detailed blog on this walk.

Our last stop revisiting autumn for this year is Yarrow Valley Park which is also based near Chorley.
Within a short drive of the town center is Yarrow Valley Country Park, at Birkacre. With a visitor center, The Treeface Cafe, an adventure play area and over 700 acres to explore, there is plenty of space to stretch your legs and while away a few hours walking along the tranquil woodland pathways. Highlights include Duxbury Woods, Big Wood and Copperworks Wood as well as exploring the riot of wildflower colour that grows in Lower Burgh Meadow in the summer months and the magnificent Big Lodge, which is a venue for fishing and canoeing as well as the home of many swans, geese and ducks. Visitors might also appreciate the delights of the Small Lodge, Top Lodge and the Weir, which features a fish ladder to the side, a purpose built viewing platform and is at its spectacular best following periods of heavy rain.

So that is my highlights of Autumn 2019. What will winter bring?
As always, thank you for reading.
