Sean Henry's Seated Figure is a monumental, life-like bronze sculpture depicting an anonymous man on a three-legged stool with a travel bag, originally placed on the North York Moors before being moved to the Yorkshire Sculpture Park in 2019 due to visitor-related issues. The 3-meter-tall work explores themes of scale, observation, and the viewer's internal experience, inviting interpretation and contemplation of the figure's inner world and their place in the landscape.

Sean Henry makes detailed and life-like sculptures of anonymous figures, often in casual poses and deep in thought. They are usually based on members of the public or actors, and scaled either up or down, so they are never actually life sized. Seated Figure is a monumental 3 metres tall. The artist uses clay to model his works in the studio, before they are cast in bronze.

Thank you for taking the time to read my very short blog. Highly recommend a visit if you're in the area. I need to go back as I think we missed loads.
